Our History

The St. James's Place Wealth Management Group was established in 1991, under the name of the J. Rothschild Assurance Group, by Mike Wilson, Sir Mark Weinberg and Lord Rothschild.

The company was floated on the stock market in 1997 and its market capitalisation places it within the FTSE 250 Index.

In June 2000, HBoS took a 60% shareholding in St. James's Place. In 2009, HBoS plc merged with Lloyds TSB to form Lloyds Banking Group plc, which took over the 60% shareholding in St. James's Place.
